Dyno Testing 9/13/2003
Details:
2003 Dodge Ram HD2500 Hemi 5.7L , Owner Micky
Parker – McHenry, IL
Our runs were done with a bone stock Hemi, as you can see from our pictures,
the only real option was the Cap, which gave us even more weight compared
to a ˝ ton truck. The weather here on 9/13/03 was 80 deg and 90% humidity.
The test was completed on a SuperFlow Dyno based in a shop in Spring
Grove, IL. The owner has run over 200 vehicles on this dyno, and its
used daily to tune various European performance vehicles. The link to
the dyno shop is http://www.speedlab1.com.
Thanks to Bob and Ed for giving us the time we needed to complete our
tests.
As you will see in the info we’ve posted, the HP and Torque gains were
even greater than True Flow actually has listed, as they used averages
for their advertising. Again we are going to post the data as a peak
increase at the range of our test, and also mention the average we gained
across the range.
Because this truck utilizes a 5 speed automatic trans, we had to run
the test in 3rd gear, so not to have a gear change in the test to flaw
the data. So we ran from 40 mph to 75 mph and captured this data in 7
runs. The 7 runs were to ensure we had repeatable data, which we did.
3 runs before the True Flow was installed and 4 after, due to a coil
wire lead giving us some grief.
Here are the results we captured during the tests. If you have any questions,
please feel free to E-mail
us, or give us a call @ (888) 344-4510.
Thanks,
